Tenerife Tennis Academy was founded in 2014 by Kris Gray and Maks Shangichev. Kris is a Scottish LTA Master Performance Coach who trained under Nick Bollettieri in Florida and at the Catalan Federation in Barcelona at the height of its powers. He has seen what makes a player and what breaks one, at every level up to the very top of the game.
They also founded Synergy, the integrated British education programme that runs alongside the tennis. That is why the schooling is built into the day here rather than squeezed around it.
No music, no voiceover, no promises. Just what a day looks like.
Seven GreenSet hard courts laid to Australian Open speed and colour, and three European red clay courts, fifteen minutes apart. Two gyms, a fifty metre pool, a four hundred metre athletics track, a recovery suite with ice baths and sauna, and a physiotherapist on site.
Most families start with one week. Some of them never leave.
Arrive Sunday, train Monday to Saturday. Seventeen and a half hours of tennis and seven and a half of physical work on the full week, with a shorter programme for younger players.

Adult weeks, private blocks, individualised programmes and doubles camps. Any level, and nobody puts you in with the children.
Your winter on court →Synergy teaches the British curriculum, Edexcel iGCSEs and A Levels, in a learning centre five steps from the court. Lessons in the heat of the day, tennis in the cool. The American scholarship route is planned from Year 9.
It is the objection that stops most families, and it is the reason the school exists.

Great surroundings inspire great performances.
Train where the sun lifts your energy, the courts raise your standard, and every day moves your game forward.

The standard behind every player, every session, every day. Led by Performance Director David Marrero, former World No. 5 doubles player, we combine elite experience with a clear commitment: helping every athlete go further than they thought possible.
Six things, all of them checkable, and none of them true of every academy that says the same words.
The school is the part most families do not expect. At twelve or thirteen the hours a child needs on court stop fitting inside a normal school week, and most families solve it by sacrificing one side or the other. Here they do not have to.
Camp weeks, rooms, monthly fees, extras, transfers, deposits and cancellation terms. Every figure is quoted before IGIC and nothing else is added at the end. No competing academy publishes any of this, and you should ask them why.

Because at Tenerife Tennis Academy, what happens between the sessions can be just as powerful as the sessions themselves.
One reply from a person who coaches here, not a brochure. Or come and walk around both sites before you commit to anything.
